Since we've been hangin out...

...you've got me upside down

Fuck.I was supposed to go out with *her Friday & Saturday. However, I didn't. I was a complete dick about it. I didn't call or anything, I just didn't go. I know it's wrong and I should have just been upfront about it. We, aside from the physical side of it, have nothing in common. We just exsist on different levels completely. She likes doing "normal" stuff and I completely detest it. I mean on occasion I enjoy the norm. But, generally, I don't. I feel like I haven't totally been myself either. And to lead her on anymore is wrong but, I should have been honest. But, if she hates me for standing her up, at least there's no chance to reconcile........

----------------------

Aside from that, this weekend was kick-ass. I got a new deck and a new skate video on Friday. Saturday I skated for a few hours and had mad fun. I also went to my friends party that night. I haven't talked to him in about 2 years and he e-mailed out of nowhere on Wednesday or Thursday last week. I don't know why I lost contact but, sometimes those things happen. I'm sure it involved my stay in Columbus somewhat. I had mad fun though. Good beer, Good ganj, and Good tunes. All in All a kick ass weekend.

Request permission to be candid...

... "granted"

I honestly think about writing in this thing as much as posssible. I was doing good for a while but, I just haven't got the time to lately. Not that it takes alot of time but, well, I don't know.

I was going to do some shirts this weekend but wal-fart didn't have any light blue shirts. Plus those fuckers were $4.47 per shirt. That's too much for a blank ass shirt. The next closest Walmart was Only 10-15 min away but I didn't feel like heading out there. This weekend was packed with skating, working, and getting my brakes changed anywas. BUT FUCK MAN, $4.47 is too damn much. Whatever, hopefully this weekend.

I almost landed a feeble grind this weekend. It was only the second time I ever attempted it. I also got straight broke trying it. But hey, that comes with the territory.

-------------------

So, this job I've got. Um, it's pretty chill. There are alot of deadlines and shit but that dosen't phase me. Everyone is pretty cool in my department. Like, my boss is chill and there's enough inter-office drama to keep things interesting.

However, I need to get out of here as soon as I can. Doing newspaper ads is so fucking lame. I mean, it dosen't have to be lame, but it is. Like the Kaufman ads and Pirates ads that come to us Press-ready are real nice looking. Like: good photography, good typography (nice kerning, leading, tracking, etc), there is sufficient padding between all the elements on the page, and FUCKING NEGATIVE SPACE. I'm pretty sure no one here, other than myself, knows what this is.

The thing is, all these ads are usually for crappy little resturaunts, or some tire place or some shit. So Ad Reps that work here get the ads, sketch out some sort of layout and send it up to us. That's fine, but, these fucking cunts don't have a creative bone in there body. Like on every ad the text is all crammed, the colors are loud as fuck(they don't pick the colors but they end up picking the same colors when they don't like mine), everything is bold, and there is some gay ass clip art type shit. If I try something creative they want it some other way becuase Joe's tire won't get it. So I've basically gave up on trying to make anything look good, because I know what they want. I understand that sometimes you have to do what the customer wants. I mean I haven't done one thing I would stick in my portfolio. WTF????!!!

I just need to work somewhere where I can invest some time into an ad. Like, so it's an actual project. Similar to my web stuff. We just have to hammer this shit out and it's weak. I guess this will look good on my resume but, that's about it.

I heard a rumour

I wish I had some sort of news to report. I'm tired today. I've been tired almost every morning because I've been staying up late with *her. It's been well worth the lack of sleep though. Yeah...

I've been growing larger skating nuts of late. Like I was millimeters away from kickfliping this 5 set at the high school. I think I'm gonna try the 8 set(set of stairs that is) on my next visit.

I've got a bunch of ideas for the new site I'm working on. I started a layout the other day. I plan on getting in a good bit of hours this weekend. It's like I'm just watching tv or I'll be here at work an idea will just hit me. I've got all these sheets of paper at home to reference. Other than writing functions and maybe a class or two in PHP I want to streamline my CSS. The way I do it now works but there's really no structure. I've been doing some homework in that subject so we'll see.

I get so syked thinking about design.

It was all too familiar...

...and you already know how this is going to turn out

+ BEGIN TRANSMISSION +
---------------------------

I sealed the deal on a freelance web project today. I sent them a quote on Friday and they signed their life away today. Just kidding. I could use the extra dough. I'm really gonna knock this bitch out too. So peace to my social life for like a month. Oh well.

I didn't do a shirt this weekend which kinda sucked. I've done one for the last 3 weekends I think. I sent wintron a pic of the one I was gonna do. It was funny. Oh well, maybe this weekend I'll bust one out. I've got the film printed anyways.

I think I've finally got a solid concept for the new sectionfourteen.com. It's gonna be flash. Just because I never really get a chance to do Flash except for on my personal shit. Umm, I've got it narrowed down to 2 color schemes. I'm sorta leaning towards one. The new "official" logo is done. Maybe some minor tweakage but, it's pretty much complete.

What else? Well I freaking tore up the handrail at the skatepark this weekend. It's high enough where you can get folded on it too. I did a switch noseslide and almost got into a switch crooked grind. *Switch by the way is like trying to throw left handed if your a righty.

Ok I'm out. Leave a comment

Above the Clouds ( 0.0 )

I started this painting a few days ago, ok? Well, actually I tried to screenprint on a canvas and it didn't take the ink so well(I used speedball Red fabric ink and it sucks so don't buy it). So I used masking tape and covered the canvas. I then proceeded to cut out lines and circles and and junk in the tape. After getting it how I wanted I painted the canvas, removed the tape, and let it dry. It is a pretty cool way to get precise shapes. It's kinda like a stencil. I've done a layer of red, green, and yellow so far. I'm gonna finish it off with black today.

Doing this painting was so damn fun. I mean, seriously, mad fun. I got these cool imperfections by removing the tape before it was totally dry where the tape would pick up wet paint and shit like that. Anyways, I'm already thinking about what I'm gonna do next. I'm gonna finish tonight, and I'll probably have some pics up by friday.

Just thought I'd share that with you.

(>>>[ * }<<<)

Got my logo done, I think. I couldn't get this ghey FTP program for Mac to work right, so no image right now..

The only thing is I did the logo here at work. I'm rockin the same version of Illustrator here and at home. But, ya know, Mac here and PC at home. So I sent the raw version(which probably won't work), an .exe version that the StuffIt thing made, a .sit version(I saw a pc version of StuffIt online), and a PDF incase I have to recreate it I could just trace what I have.

I'll upload an image later.

It's OK. Walmart didn't have any light blue shirts so I got a grey one. For some reason the blue ink dosen't like to come out as well on grey. I did a test run on a light blue test shirt and it looked wicked dope. So I'm a little pissed.

On a different shirt I layed down red, washed out the screen, let it dry, and then layed blue over it. I got a nasty purple that's hardly visible. I was hoping to get a shadowed effect but it didn't work.

This all leads back to my need to work with plastisol. But, plastisol is alot thicker, I think. I need to find the ideal mesh count for plastisol inks. Most of ...... ugh I forgot what I was gonna type because I'm IM'ing.

anyways,
